Text heard on Sample:

Herald of Earl Hakon:
My Lord, Earl Hakon,
The Herald of Earl Magnus has made you these three offers.
First, that you send Magnus to Scotland to some of your kinsmen,
to be kept under watch, that he never escape,
to be again threat to our peace in Orkney.

Earl Hakon:
This I refuse.

Herald of Earl Hakon:
Second, that he go south, to Rome or the Holy Land,
for the good of your souls, swearing never to return to Orkney.

Earl Hakon:
This I also refuse.

Herald of Earl Hakon:
Third, that you maim his body as you like,
putting out his eyes, and place him in a dungeon,
to look to his soul.

Earl Hakon:
This I accept.
